The Asphalt Animal was a privately built car...it was built in McDonald, Pa. from a body in white.

Bob George is the one to contact....he knows all about the history of that one, including where it is now. Bob has built a clone to his original to race it...they had both of them up at Beaver Springs for the Nostalgia Nats....you can't tell them apart except for the shiny chroome wheels on the clone.

Clone has windshield wipers, horn, and PA inspection sticker. You have to look real close to tell them apart.

If anyone here knows Bob George tell him to come on over to these forums...it sounds like he would have a wealth of information on these old race cars.

The purple one I believe belongs to PJ Davenport (dont quote me on the name). My dad bought some steel front end dart fenders from him. He thought it had a wedge and a hemi in it at different times. Pretty sure its not a real dart, but neat none the less

I kinda smiled and said to myself yeah, right. I asked him if he had any documentation. He left the garage and went in his house and came back with the original title still in Bagshaw's name.

I brought it home with the Max Wedge and had it painted and lettered correctly. I sold it, bought it back and sold it again.

Frank, if you don't mind me asking what state was that you found it in, and did you buy or sell it to a fellow named Donny Chapmen.

Hi everyone,Bob George posting here.I have been following this thread and find it quite interesting. We own Bob George Racing (aka)Bob George Enterprizes LLC and have been building and racing Mopars for over 50 years. We have been involved and are involved with a number of original factory race cars that include many BO and LO Cudas and Darts. My late son did the last and most correct restoration on many high end factory race cars including Bill Flynn's Yankee Peddler 65 Dodge Altered Wheelbase car for Tom O'Brian before the current owner purchased it.Presently we are finishing up the original Scootin Cuda of Jerry McClure and also owned by Paul Lance and Bob Stape as well as a few others for the current owners.
We have not commented on many of the post here that have a few inaccuracies but if anyone wishes for additional information they can contact us.

The original intent of this topic was to find the heritage of Liteweight's Hemi Dart.

ANY help there possible?

Yeah, I guess that is what got the thread started a four years ago or so. But, it has morphed into a pretty good thread, with a lot of good info and geezers b/s session. I hope Liteweight found out what he needed to know...and, this would be a good place to try to get info. But, all the info and b/s is cool to read.....and relive the past.

The car was not butchered and the only thing I had done to it was painted and lettered. I can't remember if I sold it directly to Donnie Chapman or not. I believe I did. However, I am certain I did buy it back from Donnie. I sold it about 10 years ago to Fred Englehart who later sold it to I believe the present owner.
