Woodfin, I hope you don't mind me adding something from an aural standpoint:
Years ago, I was standing in the staging lanes at Maple Grove. The only car in the lanes was the Lydon and Johnson Hemi 'Cuda. It was the only car at the track running at the time, no driver or anyone near it.
I stood behind it, I could see the tach reading 1800 rpm's. Smelling that race gas and listening to that idle was awesome! I could've stood there for hours!

Dave, such things are our soul touching music.

MANY times when I am alone at the shop I will fire up the Super 10 and just listen to that super stocker idle.

Man O Man, what fine music.

My wife oftentimes takes a big whiff of my shirt collar when I come in from the garage...says she loves the smells of oil, grease, 2-stroke exhaust, etc.
My personal favorite is oil that's been run in the race car and smells like burned VP. And gear oil...it's an acquired taste!
