In 1 car I have the B&M rachet shifter, in the other car is the PPP shifter, the B&M is flawless, I'm not so happy with the PPP, maybe I need to study up on the PPP shifter

I have never used a rachet shifter but they sure sound easy to operate

I'd say 90% of the cars I work on or build use the TurboAction Cheetah shifter ,
It's a simple design and if I'm not mistaken ,the base component has aircraft origins .
I've seen 30 year old Cheetah's that still work flawlessly.
Had one in my own Stocker .

Sounds like the lever on the tranny is too long. Did they supply a lever with the shifter?

As I have been told, "make sure all bolts are tight, use the correct levers, shift arms, if you have reverse pattern valve body, make all adjustments in high gear, if this is done right then the rest is right"
That's about all I know about adjusting the shifter itself and it did work for me

Yes, they supplied the lever. The car has a clean neutral.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the M&M shifter? Had them all at one time or the other. Don't want to go to far into the weeds, but, compared to the PPP shifter, hands down, a much better and user friendly piece. IMO
