Hey Brian

Are there any parts specifically that you are looking for. I will keep my eyes open for deals around.

Actually saying "I cant wait untill May" might not be such a good idea

I am going to be cutting it close to make the first weekend also. As of right now I am planning on having the car done. It did occur to me this weekend though how much I have left to do, How many parts I still need and how little time is left to do it. I would like to be done a few weeks ahead so I can test with the nitrous. As of right now I am planning on being there with bells on.

Which leads me to a nitrous question for the nitrous people on here. If I do not dyno about how many passes should I make to ensure the rings are seated before turning the bottle on. I am assuming its not a good idea to go out there with a fresh set of rings and start spraying.

If something drastic does change either way I will be at the track that weekend to lend my support and any help I can to make the first weekend run smooth.

Brian

Have you talked to Wayne recently? I noticed the Top Dragster program he is starting at the Valley has a cutoff of 7.49 or faster. I know of several guys with cars that interested in racing the series but their cars are only certified to 7.50. so a 7.49 knocks them out of the box. Obviously if the bumps are well into the low 7s it wont matter, a couple of $100 DNQ's us 7.50.to 7.70 folks will stay home anyway. With the present economic situation It may be harder to get 16 7.49 or faster cars than you think.

billy i have talked to him tisdale emailed me and asked the same questions i feel and so do alot of other guys it should be nhra rules 7.70 max dial eppings series is 7.70 max dial all run personally weather mine goes faster than 7.50 or not i would rather see 7.70 and all run exept night shows the idea should be to bring more cars to the track which equals more money and a bigger payout ....... i think a series meeting should be had when he gets back from florida maybee at the clubhouse ?...what do you think....give me a shout tommorow if you have time or let me know we can go get a cold beverage.....

The rings to buy are Akerly and Childs - Get a tool steel top ring with the hellfire backcut second ring !!!
Hellfires are ok but not the best stuff anymore.
The cast caps are fine - unless you are going to be spraying the balls out of it dont worry about it. **** years ago I ran a 2 bolt block and sprayed it - nothing ever happened. The eagle rods are OK - as long as you didnt say eagle crank !!! LOL I caught a lifter at the end of the year at the LV race - nothing really happened though. But I ordered another set of red zones (they are rebuildable) and they will get changed mid year - every year for preventative maint. Thankfully it happened in the burnout and not the run -

BJ you put a 300 shot in that thing you are going to fly - no problem making epping. You go 7.20 on motor correct?? You put a 28-32 in it you are easily going 6.80's.

The rumor now is you HAVE TO SPRAY it for the series - LOL. Should be interesting to see frank spray it as well -

IS IT APRIL YET !!!!????

If they let me put a bottle on it, it'll be there.

Brian,
You'll have NO problem putting 150 - 200 shot on your car.
Think of it his way; race at Denver, then race at Gainesville. Do the math on how much you pick up and then calculate the extra HP Gainesville makes.
I'm positive none of the guys that race Denver then Gainesville do anything different to their engines because of the added HP.
Don't get me wrong if something weird happens (timing issue, fuel solenoid stuck, etc) you can have issues BUT don't be affraid of a small shot with what you have for parts in it.
As was said, look at how many STOCK engines run spray, and we have race motors (with better parts supposedly :-) .
You never know, your combo might LOVE it.

Brian,
We didn't win again, but no one else did either. 145 million, do you still have the .04 cents??

I don't know if they are the same, but the main caps off the engine that blew up on its maiden voyage last year may be available. The block was a GM gen 6 and they were forged.
