I'm planning on going next year. Couldn't justify the cost this year.

Someone mentioned about 2 months ago also that they were getting in without grade points. So I tried myself (super stock and for super street) like Jim Morgan, but for Chicago with ZERO grade pts and it was a no go when they weren't even full.
So whoever is getting in without grade points please let us know who you talked to and what the SECRET password was to get in.

Was no secret password. I got in last year at Bristol simply by going online and entering. It may never work again. But I did not call anyone, I did not talk to anyone. It went to zero grade points on the Sunday before the event, I went online, logged in, and entered. It was maybe a month or two after I had re-joined NHRA and gotten a competition number again after around 15 years or so of inactivity. I did however have a permanent number, as Art mentions above. In fact, they even gave me my old number from years ago, 212A.

nhra has resinded this stupid rule. If there is an open spot you can get in with a 1 So I'll be saving some money and not going to as many points meets .I said that nhra had made rules that said when a category closed with a specific number of grade points. If someone dropped out you would need the same or more grade points to get in. I even spoke to nhra about it and they told me that was the rule and that was that. Well when they realized they might lose a couple of bucks the rule got changed. If an event closes and someone drops out you can get in as long as you have a grade point. Saves a lot of money and time for the racer, not having to travel to as many points meets.
