Re: radial tires.
[QUOTE=HawkBrosMav;190498]Rory,
when you switched to the larger tire was it to a radial or still a bais slick? I guess what i'm really asking is did you have to trim to get the tire just to fit in general or did you have to trim it to give the tire room to grow? Also to anyone, How much clearance would I need to make sure I had with a radial? I understand they don't grow much if any at all... would 1/4" be enough?? No, I have never used the radial slicks. My car is a stick, and everybody that I have ever talked to said the radials won`t work with a clutch car. I do understand that the radials have next to no tire growth, but I agree that 1/4" is awfully tight, at least to me. As for the wheel well opening cutting, I had to cut up my 85 just to get the 29 1/2"s to fit. I had to move the lower front section, at the rocker panel area by about 1"

Re: radial tires.
I have a 90 Mustang stocker 30" will hit with out mods. I did the front and rear of the openings about 1 1/2"at the bottomstapering to nothing about the trim line. Also had to cut the inner fender well away and pound up trim some of the lip and weld back together it gains about 1/2" per side so you can lower the car down more. PM me I have some pictures. Hammer and dolleys a welder, bondo, primer and some touch up paint and some time. My tires are the small lieghtwieght radials Hoosiers on 15X8 with 5 1/2 back spacing. Good luck.

Re: radial tires.
I ran the Hoosier 92.5" radials on my Volare. The problem I had with them was that I had no middle ground. They either hooked hard, or they would spin on a less than perfect track. Although the car has spacious wheelwells, I had to put .025 wheel spacers to avoid engineering on the inner tubs (believe my wheels have 4.5" back spacing. But darn it, they looked good! I would imagine on a Fox body Mustang it would take some serious engineering to get them to fit.
