Yes, Jason and Chris, I meant the purse before contingency $$. The contingency is another joke, when I won in summer of '04, some checks didnt come till the following year! and yes some refused to pay, its a real shame. You really have to keep a list of your own and follow up with emails and phone calls......we shouldnt have to chase prize money that we earn!

Well, I could be wrong Carl, but I don't believe there's been a purse increase in the last 3 years in any of the sportsman categories. So, that means, with inflation, you won about 10% more money at an event in 2004 than you would have this year.
And don't even get me started about how much more sportsman racers won in the 70's than now once you adjust for inflation... By the way, I hope you and your brother are both doing well...

In Division 1, I think the purse was increased in either January 2006 or 2007. Winners used to get $1,000, now they get $1,500. I thought the round money went up a little too.
It's worse in Division 7. The Vegas LODRS is one of the worst paying races we have ever attended. |
