Mark,

You are the man....!!!

So, is it possible that Rufus 'Brooklyn Heavy' Boyd purchased the Dart,
or was he an agent setting up 'Match Races' for Herb in the Spring of 1970.

West Hampton Drag Strip (Long Island, NY) did put on many Match-Races between
Pro/Stock and Super Stock cars back then.

Paul,
Herb had the car well after he went to work for S&M - you might see his friend Danny Byrd driving it during that time. If I had to guess, I would say that this is probably an AHRA meet -

I did suspension on Richard's Dart direct from Grand Spualding Dodge when he brought it home from Detroit. Check upper control arm for rework . They may still be on the car, may not as it has been throught many owners.I was with Sam Punnity the night Richard sold the car to him. Don't know who purchased it from Sam. Was ID tag on the car and if so what is the #, if you don't mine . Just interested.

Hi Jack, thanks for the reply! When the car was located the original suspension was gone. The VIN is 391720. Looking for any pictures especially in Poison Dart paint as that is what I want to restore it back to. I have a copy of the ad from the National Dragster from September 4, 1970 when Sam was selling it for $3800!

In this one, on the rear quarter there is a tribesman blowing a dart from a bamboo blowgun.

Are you going to put the vinyl roof & the double hood scoop back on it ??? Have you located all the original parts that were taken off that car like the front suspension, brakes etc.??

From what I understand only the chrome trim for the vinyl top was put on around the rear window, no top was ever put on and there are no holes for the two A-pillar trim pieces. The original suspension and many of the original parts are on a car in Texas. I am going to paint it in the Poison Dart paint scheme with the Pigmy blowing darts out of a dart gun onto the Poison Dart graphics if I can find better pictures with greater detail.
