I might have got a break here. Don Moats forwarded me a link to Bob Snyders race pictures. There are literally thousands of them,alot being Funny Cars, but I found something of particular interest in the background of one of them. The picture was taken @ New York National Speedway in 68 durring the Super Stock Nationals.

It was shipped to them @ a later date.)You will notice a dent in the right quarter panel. My car is a early car & there was a dent repaired in the exact same area this one is. It's a strange kind of hit, looking like something fell on it. I had never saw this dart before, forwarded the link to Mark Janaky & he recognized it right away as the Manhatten Speed Shop Hemi Dart. There aren't alot of pictures out there, only a couple in black & white. This is the first one he's seen of it in color. It's the same car due to decal placements. AND, it sure has strong possibilities as being my car. Check it out: ![]() Here's a picture taken in early 80's with the paint stripped to bare metal. Notice the bondo. The Manhatten Dart has been on the missing list, & has been previously been only a remote possibility for me due to the journalists remark of it being a SS/B Hemi Dart, not a SS/BA Dart. I've said this many times here before that my car has NEVER had a stick OR a clutch pedal in it, EVER. With the similarities of that silver car & mine, specially the weird damage, leads me to believe that the journalist F'ed up when that article went to print.
I'll be looking for contact info for Manhatten Speed Shop & owner/s. Did they own the Dart or sponsor it? Paul Ceasrine posted awhile back they also owned or sponsored a Vega in 72? I'm thinking maybe Pro Stock? Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated thanx liteweight |

This car has been a real PITA to locate it's background for sure. If it weren't for the internet, I'd be hooped for sure. There have been hundreds of hours spent by myself on this deal, not counting everyone else who has contributed to this, & I truely appreciate everyone hanging in there with me. Alot of people would of given up, but, because of the circumstances surrounding this car I neededto set it's history correct, because I'm of the belief that passing off a car as something it's not does alot more harm to it. When I was trying to document the Landy stick car back in the 90's, it took me a year & a half before Dick signed it off as his. I thought at that time it was very difficult because there wasn't the internet to find info & pictures. I had to go the route of locating paperback for that one. In todays world that car woulda been a cake walk.
