Re: No Blinders
I just really don’t care whether anyone chooses to race with a blinder or not. Seems to me that the two biggest issues we should be trying to work out are the AHFS & the quota system. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

No kidding. How utterly arrogant and stupid. I'd say that I'd like to hear the rationale, but then, I'm already on pain killers, I don't think I could add enough to survive the attending headache. Thanks NHRA, for adding another reason to consider not returning. It's not just the blinder rule, it's the attitude behind it.

Re: No Blinders
Hey guys, don’t you see what is going here? It’s a diversionary tactic to get all of the attention away from quotas and AHFS! Probably something like “let’s give those STK/SS crybabies something to really whine about!”

Re: No Blinders
Ok, ok. But what is the reason behind this new rule? Who cares if some people use blinders? Are some people OFFENDED by others that use blinders, and they don't? Did somebody complain to NHRA about this to get it changed, or is it simply the liberal California special people that are worried about equality for all? Maybe they should ask for reperations for past offenses. Hahahaha

Re: No Blinders
Can we tally up how many rules are in the rulebook for S/SS that arent getting enforced? We have all met and ran into the officials in the staging lanes, those guys are just trying to get us paird up and organized and just trying to keep the peace. At no point are they trying to look at our cars for illegal stuff. Guys like Dave Ley, who is a a walking rule book and pretty much knows what everyone is doing, has his hands tied. Hence why he's not at national events. Now, heres a scenario...its the final at any national or divisional, you know your opponent blocks because of their obnoxious 10" blinders hanging down from the roll cage, or the tape all over the windshield. Your .040 and they are .00 and they win on a holeshot. The rules clearly state that blockers are prohibited. You suck it up and accept the loss? Or do you make NHRA play their hand. Problem is, if you go to NHRA and they do nothing then what are we all doing here.

Re: No Blinders
Choose a slower class like T, U, V, W, you'll always have a clean tree, no blinder necessary.

Re: No Blinders
If the starter is in charge he could turn your lane red if he saw a blinder. I wouldn't want to take that risk.
