Re: Live from Jegs Cajun Sportsnationals-Belle Rose
Well we are in the track, parked, set up and ready to race (almost). Sam Lusco and Sammy Pizzalloto are right next to us in the circle where stock usually park. We are where we were last year except on the outside edge next to the pavement. So ya'll come on by.
The grounds look great! Freshly mowed and looking good! Well, more later. We bought us a little run-around car from Jimmy Hidalgo and I can hear that seafood calling me! |

Re: Live from Jegs Cajun Sportsnationals-Belle Rose
Well they have stopped parking for the evening. We just got back from Landry's for more good seafood. We went to El Cajon for lunch which is Canjun and Mexican. It was good too!
There are maybe 50 or so rigs in and parked now. Today was a beautiful day. We stayed busy getting our new weather station set up with 2 trips to the True Value hardware store to get parts and pieces. I took a couple of pics that I will get posted a little later. |

You know how when you plant your garden you have the rows marked with peas, corn, cucumbers, etc. Well here is a picture of back behind Jimmy Hidalgo's house of his Auqa-Garden where he harvests his local cuisine:
It is a little hard to read, but it says "Shrimp, Crawfish, Crabs" This is St. Emma Plantation circa 1847 in Donaldsonville. There are lots of really nice plantation houses around here. Just go down River Road which follows the Mississippi River. You can tour a lot of them. Nottaway is around 52,000 square feet and is on thru Donaldsonville. The azaleas are in full bloom around here! |

It's a good thing you have that stacker trailer! Question is, is there enough room with the wine cellar? Lol! Have fun and good luck! See ya'll at Norwalk!

Re: Live from Jegs Cajun Sportsnationals-Belle Rose
Well today has been a lazy day. It rained a little this morning, so we didn't get out and about til noon or so. Then we went down to try to get a picture of the alligator that is living at the end of the track. Of course, it didn't want to come out for a photo shoot. So we still haven't seen it, but the Summers saw it again today. They are parked down closer to it, so it will get them before us!
Then this afternoon we enjoyed spending time with all the Skillmans--Bill, Stacey, Drew, Ray and Ann. It was great seeing all of them again. Then tonight we went to Landry's again for dinner with the Hidalgos and Maurice. The weather was really nice this afternoon after it cleared off. It is supposed to be down in the 40's tonight, then back in the 70s tomorrow. The Swamp Tour is on go for tomorrow as well as test and tune. Larry is planning on doing a little testing tomorrow, so I guess we will miss the swamp tour. But for ya'll who are going--Have fun! |

This is the only picture I took today. Looks like this little guy is getting ready for the Swamp Tour tomorrow! Better watch out if he finishes off that bottle of Absolute!

Re: Live from Jegs Cajun Sportsnationals-Belle Rose
Thanks for the live reports! It is 16* and snowing here in Northern Indiana, and I can only DREAM of being at the track right now.
If you get a chance, please post as many photos as you can of Mr. Pizzolato's Corvette. My Dad and his friend built and campaigned that car in the late 70's/early 80's. One of these days I will make it to a track to see it again in person! We're a Mopar family now, so I am always pulling for the Pink 'Cuda. Thanks, and Good Luck!! Brian Meyer

Re: Live from Jegs Cajun Sportsnationals-Belle Rose
It is a beautiful day here at No Problem Raceway in Louisiana! It got down in the 40s last night, but it is already up to 58 now headed to 69 later in the day. We have tech starting at noon, then test n tune from 1-6. And of course the Swamp Tour at about 2:45.
It looks like the place is really filling up this morning. I think most of the spots are filled here behind the scales where we are parked. I am going out and about in a bit and I will let you know who all I've seen. I know Bob Dennis, Randy Eakins, Mark Nowicki, Stan Holt, Sam Lusco, Sammy Pizzalotto are all here because they are all parked real close to where we are. So more later! |
