Re: Musical Tastes
“Ponte dei Sospiri”or the "Bridge of Sighs" in Venice, have see it, has an interesting history of the prisoners being held at the New Prison and that were moved to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace...sigh.

Re: Musical Tastes
Yac don't do Hair Bands, as a rule, but I love this MTV style video.. Maybe it's the Harley entrance, or the Playboy rent-a-chicks, but it IS a cover song.
Almost a note for note copy of the Ian Hunter / Mick Ronson version from the 70's..

Re: Musical Tastes
Pure California rock and roll. Fires got a little closer to home last night with a Palm Springs fire, no containment yet.

Re: Musical Tastes
Loved Robin Trower Eddie !, As you can tell I like A LOT of stuff, specially ones that not very many enjoyed. Dark music, Deep Tracks, what ever name you put on it. Here's another one. This guy sounds like Paul Rodgers of Free/Bad Company, but he also has a Steve Marriott Humble Pie sound. Have a listen

Re: Musical Tastes
I guess it's safe to say Rock and Roll is dead, as we once knew it.

Re: Musical Tastes
Mark
I liked Genesis better after Gabriel left. And as far as Solsbury Hill, which is an "ok" tune, I preferred Modern Love much better. But it is mixed so horribly its hard to listen to on a good system. I didn't know about Alice Coopers guitar player being on Solsbury Hill. There was a song, it think "changes" on Yes's 90125 album that constantly changed beats. I'll post it tomorrow

Re: Musical Tastes
Okay, I got sidetracked from my cover songs, but I'm back. Anyone else have any ?
Yes , this version is a cover. Most people think the Beatles covered this one..If they did ,they ripped the soul right out of it, IMO. The first version of this song was recorded by The Top Notes and it was produced by Phil Spector. The songwriter Bert Berns absolutely hated Spector's production because it "killed the feel" of his song and is the reason it flopped as a single. So Bert decided to produce this version with The Isley Brothers and it became a huge hit. From Cincinnati ,Ohio, O'Kelly, Rudolph, and Ronald Isley >
