Re: Drag racers stand for the National Anthem
The reason I stand with hat/cap/hand over my heart for the Anthem is out of respect for the many men and women that fought for our country. Like I said in an earlier post, I walk by my Dad's photo each day and say thanks. He was in the Aleutian Islands during WW 2. He never talked about it much, but was proud of serving.
The problems that many veterans have to deal with is NOT right. With that being said, we must ALWAYS pay respect to them. I do that by stopping/standing when the Anthem is played. Eddie Thank You for all you have done and will continue to do for our veterans.

Re: Drag racers stand for the National Anthem
Out of respect for any country which has graciously opened their border to me, I will stand bareheaded, and observe the playing of their anthem or any similar patriotic ballad. It’s just common courtesy, and I would hope that visitors to Canada would act in a similar fashion.
I am not in favour of using a public forum for political expression or a display of personal agendas.....my policy, my pride.
