Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014
Ed,
This is great news and plenty of time to grow this list even further! My interest in the SS/K shootout and the 283 goes back to my very first street car which was a brand new Midnight Blue 1964 Chevy11 Sedan with a 283/195 hp 2bbl, with a Muncie wide ratio 4 speed, and a 355 posi. Of coarse about as quickly as I could my buddy's and I installed a Carter AFB D series 4 bbl carb, dual exhaust, and 327/365 solid lifter camshaft. We also slapped on a set of Atlas bucron rear tires and this car was suddenly transformed in to a 7,000 rpm rocket. It was also a big plus that the damn thing only weighed a whopping 2750 pounds according to the shipping weight on my registration. In hindsight had I never had this car I doubt I would have ever graduated to the drag strip. What a blast! MK

Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014
Update Eddie Rezac is supporting the SS/K Shootout. Eddie makes front end kits for the Chevy II's. I have one of his kits on my car and I know several of the other cars do as well. Eddie is paying 100.00 to the winner and 50.00 to the r/u. Does not have to be a Chevy II and no decal required. If you have a Chevy II spread the word for Eddie on his kit.

Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014
What is the front end kit he sells? I'm doing a 67 nova now. Also, one more dumb question. I ran an ex C\SM nova in 82, 83, and 84, and every time I limited the front end to control wheel stands, I'd knock the front end out of line. What do you all do to cure this? When I left it unlimited, it'd stand on the bumper, and when I controlled it to a couple of feet, it'd get knocked out of line.

Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014
Here is info on Eddie's front end kit.
To correct bump steer and toe drag problems on 1967 and older Chevy II's, I still build a tie rod kit for these cars. It is a bolt on kit, no bending or other hassles. It comes with an instruction sheet on how to align the front. Just bolt it in, align the front end and go racing. I did a lot of research, and built these things back in the 70's and 80's when I raced Super Stock. For more info about this set up, you can send me a P.M. or email me at eddierezac@yahoo.com 402-443-8424
