Re: question for the 90 guys and gals
I'm too tired to crash the server at the moment. I'll just say that the lack of exposure of the sportsman classes pisses me off. I thought it was a joke before when they only showed the finals of all the sportsman classes on TV. Now, we're lucky if we get a FEW finals, let alone all of them.
Years ago, the IHRA broadcasts used to show the semis and finals of every sportsman category. That I thought was great. But, I'm guessing that wasn't cutting it from a ratings standpoint (i.e. not enough entertainment). Of course, I'd love to know what the ratings of IHRA's sportsman shows was then vs. what they are now (or vs. NHRA's sportsman show, since I don't think IHRA has a sportsman show anymore). Anyway, at least rotating through each of the sportsman categories to give each some extended coverage would be nice. It would certainly better than what we get now. And I still think shortening national events is a good idea. The less time I can spend sitting around doing nothing, the better. Of course, that's also been called a bunch of horse pukey, so I guess we should make them all 2 weeks long, and extend the season to a full 52 weeks, with only 1 day of travel time between the events, that way it will only take a grade point of 1 to get into each national event. Then, we could all make 13 time shots over the first 4 days, and run only one round of eliminations per day over the final 10 days of the events, and still leave ourselves a few of extra days just in case of rain. Now that would be great...
