Can NHRA survive without Coke? Maybe, Maybe Not. The Coke $$$ 5.6 mil doesn’t sound that much but when add in the lose of the Spector income loss from the tracks NHRA controls, 2 Pomona, Gainesville, Atlanta, Indy US NATIONALS. Income from the % of Spector income from other canceled Nationals events. The add in the expense of Interest on the Atlanta track, the leases on the 2 Pomona races, the Mortgage Payments on IRP. All that amounts to a lot of DOLLARS,
Who know how this will shake out! Time will tell. |

If you think sportsman racers are important to NHRA, just look at what happened in IHRA. And IHRA was not near as top heavy at the top as NHRA.

Get one started. You know how much fun we had in the Southern Stock Super Stock Assn. in Florida when you lived here. Unfortunately for us the SSSSA is dead. We haven't had any races in a couple of years and I don't think there is enough cars left in the area to support it. Maybe next year something might happen??

It appears that NHRA has hired two of the best litigators in the USA to pursue this legal action. I for one sincerely hope that our "friends" from Glendora are successful with this litigation. Like it or not, we need a successful sanctioning organization to continue our sport. And, unfortunately, IHRA does not fill the bill. After reading the complaint against Coca Cola, I'm more than a little pissed off that they would try to renege on the agreement that was agreed upon by both parties.
I fervently hope that NHRA prevails in Court, and we can all get back to racing as it used to be. |

The way I see it no matter what happens with the Coke lawsuit, which will be a protracted litigation, the N.H.R.A. as we currently know it is in peril.
Like it or not sportsman racers need the N.H.R.A. infrastructure and maybe this will cause a reorganization and a new and fresh beginning as most of us believe the N.H.R.A. leadership team needs a tune up from the neck up. I hope the Lucas Oil sponsorship is safe. |

There were plenty of NHRA members that sent in their membership fees at the beginning of the year,License fees, chassis fees , number fees, you name it fees. Safety equipment expiring. When NHRA needs the sportsman racers to show up for a show. The pits are full of hotrods, show quality cars and engineering at its finest. About time NHRA pays the sportsman racers back. The fees go up but the purses haven't moved in decades.
