Re: “Live” from Galot D2 LODRS 2019
What a job the starting line crew did this race. Conditions were challenging, it was hot, it was sunny, it stormed Friday night, and it was the worst infestation of dog pecker gnats I have ever seen. It was so bad..............."how bad was it?". Riding on your golf cart you thought everyone was waving at you, not so, they were trying to keep the gnats at bay. It seemed like the more you sweated the more gnats it attracted. So a Big Thanks to all personnel and officials that made this race a success.
GALOT has to be one of the top five tracks in the country Last edited by Larry Hill; 09-29-2019 at 11:48 AM. |

It was first time running there and I was very impressed. They definitely stayed on top of the starting line and and it was great catching up with everyone. Think this should be a bucket list track if you’ve never been!

Re: “Live” from Galot D2 LODRS 2019
Larry that has to be the quote of the year and I couldn't agree more. It must be a sandhill thing because we don't have them here at the coast. Galot is a premier facility without a doubt and I hope they get the extra land one day to make it a full length track one day. Even with the heat it was a great day of racing and I'm sorry I didn't get much reporting in but my phone was taken over by a 5 year old. See everyone in Charlotte!

Hey NHRA. Run stock, super stock to 1000 ft in 2020. Use 1/4 mile indexes.

I guess that would get the old AHFS rolling. Other than that it would suck slightly less than 1/8th mile. LOL

Re: “Live” from Galot D2 LODRS 2019
I have to agree with Larry, the folks at GALOT put on one heck of a show!
This is the first time I've visited the facility since the upgrade and everything about the place was first class! Little things mean a lot, and even the rest-rooms were impressive! Maybe it has something to do with the area, but everyone of the staff seemed to be really glad that we were there, and you know how contagious smiles can be! Congratulations to Cam Tingen, driving Danny Stanton's SS/AM Olds Achieva, for the win in Super Stock! The Runner-up, Lee Truell, in his Sloan Engined SS/JA Camaro, unfortunately picked the Final to have his worst RT of the weekend! He's always tough! Back again to GALOT in two-weeks for the East Coast Drag Times Hall of Fame Show! It should be a "Classic"!!
