Nice looking '57 Chevy super stocker and I also recall seeing this paint scheme on some other cars as well...a '68 Cuda rings a bell.

Brainbeau Olds ran their cars one year and then sold them. This Black Arrow car is an ex-Brainbeau, I have been told. I was also told that Brainbeau took off their "trick" stuff before selling the cars.
Note also the first car I posted is Ron Garey's '66.

1968 Photo's

This 442 ran in B/Stock in 1967.

Doc Burgess bought the 67' 442 'National Record Holder' from Brainbeau Olds (Braintree, Mass.) at the end of 1967.

I think the purchase price was $4000.

When Doc first raced it in April 1968 (D/Stock) the car was running in the 12.40's @ 112 MPH.

The NHRA D/S National Record was 12.43 at the time.

The NHRA National Record for MPH was 113.63, which was
set by, Loyed Woodland (in this 442) at Sanford, Maine. (in July 1967)

It was still capable of winning Stock Eliminator Events.

But, by the end of the year, the engine was tired from the hard racing, the piston rings were washed out, and the car was pushing oil galore.

At the end of 1968, the car was struggling to run 13.00's.

At the end of 1968, Doc put the 67' Old's 442 up For Sale,,, $3300.

No takers, so he put the car on the shelf, and stored the 67' Olds at his friends Gas Station.

Doc offered the car up to Lee Valentine, who I believe bought it for $1500, sometime in 1969.

Lee raced it in E/Stock.
