Re: Accusump - pros & cons

The title of the thread was Accusump Pros and Cons That would not preclude a discussion about LS, Coyotes or Big Block Chevys While my response was wordy, I wanted to share the details on my experiences with the other racers here who may share the same issues. I have no opinion. I've not used one yet. Several of the high end engine builders that I have talked about the oil pressure drop have recommended an accusump. All have said not to over fill the pan. Hope this helps Robin

Robin, as the op of this post, I would like to thank you for your very
insightful posts. That is certainly the type of information that I, and I'm sure other readers were looking for. You were very helpful with your information, just as you have been when I've called you. Thanks Again, J.R. |

Re: Accusump - pros & cons
I have had good results using an Accusump with a dedicated switch, for all of the reasons I use one, and I will continue to do so.
If someone gets by without one and/or feels it's a band-aid for some short coming in the engine design and parts used, I understand that. Don't use one. Doesn't bother me a bit. What I don't understand is the obsession of some people, or the reasons, to negatively interject themselves in discussions concerning what and how some people run their programs when, as long as it's within the rules, it doesn't affect them one little bit. Don't like it, don't use it. I don't care and I won't scold you for your decision. But I would like to hear a legit reason not to use the thing besides the guy who puts my junk together doesn't know jack about what he's doing. |

So Robin like me, hasn’t used an accusump because he doesn’t have low oil pressure when decelerating and/or braking which is due to poor oil control. That said, it’s obvious, you don't want advice, don't want opinion, what you want is confirmation of what you have already decided to do. Why? It’s your engine, your $ and no one really cares what you do! Last edited by 1320racer; 01-12-2024 at 08:57 AM. |

Re: Accusump - pros & cons
Ed, Ed, Ed. You are replying far too early in the morning. Walk the dog,
have a coffee, relax, it's only January, we don't want you to burn out early. We need this level of entertainment until early spring, then we can cut you loose. You keep mentioning my oil control problem. Guess what?? Don't have one. I've run my car with less oil than I like to, never a problem. Oil pressure gauge never makes a move, same when I download my data. You asked me at the beginning of this thread, what band aid I was looking for, and I told you then I was just being pro active. You just chose not to believe me, so you continue the drama you desire. In the meantime, some really good people have given their experiences, thoughts and ideas. I have enjoyed the thread so far. I hope others have as well. Regards, J.R. |
