Got a call from Dave on Friday to say, "We ran out of stuff to do to your car." So yesterday, I had a big day - Picked it up from his shop and delivered it to another Dave for the vinyl roof install.

Car look's great ,but where does it say you can use that rear end cover.as it not stock and also not in NHRA Accepted Products list. clearly state that it has a performance advantage.
High tensile aluminum alloy
Eliminates case distortion
Controls unwanted gear deflection
Provides additional clearance for low gear ratios
Allows aftermarket main caps and main cap stud kit installation
Increases fluid capacity
Reduces operating temperatures
Correct mounting fasteners included
Step-by-step instructions for a simple bolt-on installation

Tore it apart, hung new quarter skins...then made a little room for tires:

Blasted the underside...made subframe connectors...installed rollbar:

That was all by the end of '03. Slacked on the car, got divorced, moved, etc. etc.
Fast forward to this fall...epoxy primed the underside, POR-15 on the floor and trunk, assembled rearend (thanks, Larry!) and as of last night, it's off the rotisserie!!

I hope you're joking....if not, you haven't seen underneath very many stockers these days! As for the rulebook, it doesn't say anything about differential covers the last I looked.

The brace and cover really is a good way to keep a stick car from bending axle tubes.
They aren`t anything controversial in the stocker ranks for sure. We bent the left tube on our Nova when we first ran it. We put the brace kit on after straightening it and it is still good 10 years later!

Paul the car looks great!
