Metric 200 question
I just looked at my metric 200 case, getting ready for spring, and it has
the dreaded bell housing crack. I have another case, but it has the solenoid plug for a lockup which mine does not have. Can I swap the internals, or do I need the non-lockup case? Thanks, J.R. |

Re: Metric 200 question
That's my 3rd or 4th option, trying to find out about the cases. J.R.

Re: Metric 200 question
You should probably replace the case with a pre-1981 case , so that your spacer plate and VB will be compatible . Hopefully you are not running a solid transmission mount , which would put extra stress on the case . Also did you cut the "ears" off the bellhousing for header clearance ? Sometimes that creates a stress riser .

Re: Metric 200 question
Ron, it was built by Dynamic. No, don't run a solid mount, but replaced
what looked like a tired beat up one with a new hard rubber one last year. No, didn't cut the ears off. J.R. |

Re: Metric 200 question
We broke two cases until we went with McClay with the strut on it for the Corvette. No problems since.

Re: Metric 200 question
The brace on the pass side is a must have item....If you really want to sleep at night call Leo G. For the replacement bell housing. Money well spent and far superior to the factory metric case.....

Re: Metric 200 question
Worked on a KS/A with a Metric 200 and I remember calling a trans guy to see if that brace needed to be there. Never saw anything like that before. I left it after being told DO NOT TOUCH IT!
