lt-1 horsepower

I have been racing 61 years and still don't understand the horsepower rules I have two of these cars that the hp has been hit 6 times over the years. there is one of these cars that runs very good not ours the last 12 hp we got put us out.i have a good car that would qualify at indy before this last hit. the reason that I am so upset is not because of not getting to take the firebird to indy but of the fast car not being torn down I will take the mustang and qualify. I am still old school. I know how to play the game. I am sure that the 27 pound crank would benefit biggg
