Default Letter from VP Fuels...

NHRA just sent a letter from VP Fuels. They won't be the official fuel of NHRA next year. Sounds like they won't be at the races now? I have been to races where both VP & Sunoco were selling fuel. Think that situation is over?

I can buy VP here, but rather not carry ten gallons in the trailer after seeing pictures of burned race car trailers lately.

I run Sunoco purple. Ive tried vp c12 c11 c25 ZERO performance advantage on the track. Get from my son's dirt track guy for 8.50 vs 13-22 for vp JMHO....

I believe there was a thread on here a while back that Sunoco will be the official fuel in 2015. It's interesting how early in the year that was announced. Here is the news release from NHRA:

Sunoco Purple has been a good, consistent fuel for me for decades.

I found a little power with C11, it does take a little different tune up.

Sunoco is now the official fuel supplier for NHRA. I understand that any brand of race gas currently on the NHRA Approved Fuels List will still be legal for any national or regional event for the classes that don't require you to purchase only one fuel.

I just got a email directly from VP. It has a PDF attachment with it listing all of the Divisional races that they will have track side service at. Looks like they will be at most of them in all divisions except for Div3 where they are only going to be at 2 of them (Norwalk and Gateway). And northwest div where they will only be at one. If someone can explain how to get it from my email to here. I would be happy to post it.

X2 VP can't touch Sunoco on price even when comparing their 110 leaded fuel. I live 5 minutes from the east coast distribution center for VP and they're more expensive than the track. Insinger has a warehouse about the same distance away where I get 55 gallons for less than $8.50 per gallon. Car is just as consistent and, what potential performance gains that can be had with VP's more "exotic" fuels do not justify the cost for me.

According to their web sites, there's actually quite a difference between leaded 110 race gas brands.
Sunoco 110 is 106 Motor Octane
VP 110 is 107 Motor Octane
Renegade 110 is 18.5 Motor Octane
