Re: Alum Radiators for stockers ....2015
For what it's worth.......when I had the crate motor in my car my aluminum radiator filled with water weighed 1.5 lbs. less than my stock 340 radiator filled with water. PLUS.......my stock radiator cooled much better.

Brent - I weighed both radiators today and was surprised...the factory one is 14 pounds and the new one is 11 pounds.

And remember that the water will add a lot of weight (1 lb/pint).

Were you running a 3 row? or 4 row? before you changed to alum... Was this the camaro radiator that you weighed?

Re: Alum Radiators for stockers ....2015
[QUOTE=Travis Miller;455084]According to Bruce Bachelder, it does not have to be an exact replacement. A cross flow can even replace a top tank or it can be the other way around.
This new rule is about NHRA allowing Stock racers to use an aluminum radiator to replace the hard or impossible to find OEM one. It is not about who can push the rule by installing the smallest aluminum radiator that can be found. That would just raise a red flag for us to take a harder look at the entire car.[/QUote I wonder if any bracket fabbing is allowed?

you do know that the hoses are reversed on a Ford , might make it hard to install in the Camaro..

Re: Alum Radiators for stockers ....2015
Is there a big price differance between champion and be cool radiators . Never really looked at any of them in the bracket cars when in the lanes , is there a quality issue where .I like the champion small 3/4 core 2 row . For the camaro

Re: Alum Radiators for stockers ....2015
Here it is in the '90 Mustang...fits fine even with the tweaked radiator support.
