Great choice. Saw one used in a 900HP engine for two years and it did not stretch.

Are you using the Rollmaster unit with the two-piece cam gear that is adjustable?

Dwight,

yes, have run several of those sets. All give good service, are easy to dial in exactly the cam setting you want.

In addition, I install the Cloyes two piece front cover with adjustable end-play button.

another example of small items that are very important and time consuming.

The photos appears to show the "just in time switch" in an awkward location but when seated it is just right. The mounting bracket is simply a piece of sheet metal cut and formed as needed. Not visible is a triangulation brace leg on the right side of bracket.

The toggle switch is a "burn/race" switch. Down is line lock only, up is both line lock and trans brake.

The wiring of line lock and transbrake together is not permitted in SS or comp eliminator.

Also, why use a timing chain when rules permit the use of a belt drive? When building a class vehicle, need to maximum advantage of the rules.

Is that toggle a three position (up-on/center-off/down-on) master power switch for your line lock and trans brake switches? I have a similar setup on my Mustang using seperate master power switches for those circuits. They let me disable either line lock and or TB when I don't need them. Since the actual switches that activate the LL and TB are seperate, I believe it's OK tech wise.

My car's street legal so the wirings a bit of a rats nest with all the turn signals and such running off seperate switches, so tech will have a fit with it anyway. At least I labeled everything.

It's not okay. Like Fred said earlier, there must be wire and circuit separation separation to both the line lock and transbrake. Tech will check and trace the wiring for separation.

No problem about the trans brake - line lock activation. I will change that. Doing so is common in bracket racing so I should have doubled check the rule book.

The timing chain - timing belt is a personal choice. Either set will win races.

Updates for this week,

* finished the brake plumbing. All lines run, brakes bled, good pedal.

* Lower control arms modified to accept AFCO double adjustable shocks built by Randy Mans "Fast Shocks"

* Moroso #47130 springs installed which is a 212 pound spring. They are installed out of the box. When the completed, race ready package sits on the floor the spring will be cut as needed for desired ride height.

* Fuel lines plumbed from cell to regulator location

* Most of the wiring is roughed in, most components mounted.

* Air lines and shift solenoid wiring/plumbing completed.

More progress reports soon.

Larry, like all of us out here, I've truly enjoyed following along on your build. The truck is progressing very well, and your postings have been entertaining and educational. The craftsmanship and thought that have gone into this project is appreciated by us as well. Can you tell us about the engine for the Super 10, is it a bullet that you've had sitting around or from another race car or is it brand new? Have you got any dyno time on it? Just curious if you can enlighten us on your chosen power plant. Thanks for any info.
