Vin #135007 thru 135056= 50 135 series 428's built in December 1967. Of the 50, 22 were seam sealer & sound dedner delete.

Years back I investigated a claimed "one of the 50 lightweights" hoping to purchase it. With an April build date, it was obviously not one of the"135xxx vin" cars. But it was for sure a radio, heater, sealer, and sound deadener delete car. White GT fastback with black interior. Trying to research it further, I talked to a man in Oklahoma that was said to be heavily into these cars. He told me "some", "a handful", "10 to 12", "less than 20", were individually special ordered throughout 1968 as identical to the "135" cars. Somewhere in all my junk, I'm sure I still have the door tag info. Never got around to confirming it with Kevin Marti. Probably still sitting in the same Indiana pole barn I saw it in 30 years ago. Was stupidly overpriced then.

Bill Dyer {SS/M 85 Mustang} bought a 428 CJ 68 Mustang that had the clutch disc froze to the flywheel for $500 years ago back in the 70s. We towed it with the cutch pedal in & out until it broke loose. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the car outside of that. He raced it for a while then sold it

Stacy Shields. That may have been one of the "135vin" cars. Depending on location, my long lost friend Tom Ellis may be driving it.

People still tell "Big Stacy" stories around Indy. Good racer.

The track is Pomona, 1969 NHRA Winternationals or possibly the 1970 event.

I don't know about those specific races. I do remember Tom telling me that the national record listed in National Dragster for Stacy Tom was driving on the record pass. Stacy, Tom, and John H.(Humpries?sp?) were the main people involved that I remember. All worked at Indy Ford dealers. Tom lived on west edge of Clermont. Many a time the race car was driven back and forth from the home garage and the south gate at IRP. Lost track of Tom when he moved to Fla? and got into boats I heard. Saw John a few times in late 70's when I would take a vehicle in for warranty service.
