Default 428 CJ cam

Anyone have any information on the note 2 “alternate” cam? Is this allowed in all cobra jets? I called the local tech and he didn’t know and hasn’t got back to me in over a month. Thanks in advance for your insight.

I can tell you from the other lane its BS but cam is allowed and dont forget the booster change to go from 735 cfm to 780 cfm. Almost forgot get rid of that cast iron intake and install the aluminum PI intake. The medium riser heads with the 428 number on them. It's a good piece of penmanship.

Oh boy, I better keep the hood shut on my Shelby ( if I can the darn thing finished, I made the mistake of starting from scratch.) If the above items are a problem a ‘67 GT500 built out of the guide will really get their undies in a bunch!

A few of us have had that enema before. 67 GT500 is that the one that has to have “ Shelby “ cast in the intake? If your going to try to run any type of spring pressure don’t forget to splint the rocker shaft they will break. Billy could you help me I know little about FFF fords

Ya know, when I have a question about what cam, intake, head, carb belongs on a combo, I contact a restoration shop that specializes in that make. Your original ,restored, "100 point" 68 Cobra Jet ain't gonna bring the big bucks at B-J with the wrong carb and intake. And your "100 point" 440-6 70 'Cuda with an AAR hood won't either.
Shelbys get to be a different kind of a problem because NHRA considers them a "Manufacturer" in certain years. Which to me means they can basically do whatever they want as long as Shelby will say that "yeah, we built it like that". Kinda like "Nascar" Hemis.

And it took 50 years to finally get the Yenko Deuce in the guide.....

Wasn't that the first real Crate Engine that found it's way into NHRA STOCK with it's intake, carb, heads, oil pan and so on? I remember just shaking my head when they popped the hoods back then..the start of the Edelbrock era

p.s. No love from the "Stocker Police" on this?

Mr Clean, this is what happens when a school bus and a passenger car get a little bit TOO COZY ......This ROMANCE opened PANDORAS box to bogus hoods, 327 intakes on 283’s, numerous deeper sump oil pans, etc......
