Default Flag Day

Flag Day falls within National Flag Week, a time when Americans reflect on the foundations of the nation’s freedom. The flag of the United States represents freedom and has been an enduring symbol of the country’s ideals since its early days. During both events, Americans also remember their loyalty to the nation, reaffirm their belief in liberty and justice, and observe the nation’s unity.

Many people in the United States honor this day by displaying the American flag at homes and public buildings. Other popular ways of observing this holiday include: flag-raising ceremonies; Flag Day services; school quizzes and essay competitions about the American flag; musical salutes; street parades; and awards for special recognition.

*Organizations such as The National Flag Day Foundation are actively involved in coordinating activities centered on the event and keeping the flag’s traditions alive. Following Flag Day is Honor America Days, a 21-day period through to Independence Day (July 4) to honor America. During this period, people hold public gatherings and activities to celebrate and honor the nation.

I fly my flag every day outside my home. Pride in our country is something we can all agree on Eddie. Jim

Cool Re: Flag Day

All of you great Americans on here today are totally correct. Doesn't matter what our politics are, the main thing is that we are Americans, love the flag, and love those who gave it all for freedom and a greater cause. Thank you, each and every one, for your years of service. Coming to irwindale, Eddie? Wife's broken arm is mending nicely, so I'll go. She says, "What do you want for Father's Day'? I said," A trophy!".

Greg, been on the road moving SDV assets to Hawaii. Driveline is at Inland, couple weeks and I will be there. Glad to hear your bride is on the mend.

Cool Re: Flag Day

Next race is July 8 after this one. Hope you get the car together and can make it. I haven't made a pass since August 14th when I broke the trans in the wagon. Hopefully the past year of blown motors, busted transes and medical issues won't ever be repeated or continued.

Good luck this weekend Greg.
Every day here is Flag day too. I also leave my POW/MIA flag in my front window forever. I still remember being a little kid and my mom getting my sister one of the bracelets for a MIA I think it was soldier, must've been about 71. She said I was too young to understand the importance, but I never forgot either.
Thanks to all our Veterans.
Chris

ps, Eddie get that Box done, what a great looking and condition car. Westcoast cars rule. I'm in New York so I've seen some and have some rust, lol.
