Re: Galot Motorsport Park IHRA last week NHRA this week
Rusty, perhaps Galot got a little over-zealous putting the D2 race on their schedule (the first weekend in June) before their association with NHRA is listed on the D2 site. In any case having seven D2 races (and another close to D1) is a great move, especially if Galot ownership can acquire the land necessary to make it a full 1/4 mile. In any case they should have a good turnout, looks like they've made a lot of improvements to the track.

Re: Galot Motorsport Park IHRA last week NHRA this week
Rusty I don't think it will be a d-2 Lucas oil points race. I read on a facebook post that they would have a sportsman national open. D-2 hasn't had a national open in a while and when they did it was always in Fla. Many years ago there was one at Piedmont dragway when they switched to NHRA, but if I remember correctly that was just for 1 season. This should be a great opportunity for racers in this area to get a grade point, it would be better if it was a points race but we will take what we can get!

With 3 races at ZMAX, 1@ Rockingham, Galot, VMP This area has turned into a hot bed of NHRA action. Good deal

Re: Galot Motorsport Park IHRA last week NHRA this week
I was in NC on business (Asphalt Late Model Race) and stopped by Galot tonight for its opening day of racing. WOW!!! An amazing transformation from Dunn-Benson. The place is on a level with Norwalk. Lots of paved pits, new everything, grandstands from Daytona backstretch and running very smoothly. Despite heavy rain that lasted till noon, the place was packed with racers. They had 2,000 spectators for test &Tune on Thursday and 400 cars. This is a real world case of "Build it and they will come". The D2 NHRA racers should love this place. These are some pictures. Note the weather playing on the huge scoreboard.
