Default Filing a va claim

If you were injured during you time in the military, you can be compensated and treated for those injuries. There are numerous laws covering PTSD, exposure to Agent Orange, exposure to burn pits, exposure to AFFF fire retardant. The list goes on and on, here are the forms that will need to be complete, either on your own or by a service organization i.e., American Legion, VFW and Disabled American Veterans. These organizations have what you want call a "Service Officer" that can sit down with you and assistance you in filing a claim. For a standard filing you will require three forms:

VA form 21-526EZ Disability Claim form

VA for 21-0966 Intent to File a Claim for Compensation and/or Pension, or Survivors Pension and/or DIC

VA form 21-781 Statement in Support of Claim for Service Connection for PTSD

If you intend to file via a Service Organization, you will need to complete the VA Form 21-22 Appointment of Veterans Service Organization as Claimant's Representative.

If you need assistance please feel to PM me.

Great post Eddie--I might add if you have any medical issues and you have any doubt if you are eligible for any disability compensation talk to someone at any American Legion post or VFW lodge--- they all have a designated person that can assist you in filing a claim ,information about your particular issue etc,. Also most counties in the US have a VETERANS ASSISTANCE COMMISSION. FIND THEM and see if you are eligible for disability pay. It is no cost to you and they work on your behalf . They also can explain as well as fill out AND file all the necessary forms like the ones Eddie talks about. They know how to do this as they have done literally thousands of these.

It will cost you nothing to reach out to them. Also watch out for "scams" like on TV for Camp LeJuene disability or any of the other scenarios. If you hire them they are going to do FOR A FEE what the Veterans Assistance commission, DAV,Legion,VFW etc will DO FOR FREE. This means if you are awarded disability pay you will pay a percentage of your disability pay TO THEM . With the Veterans organizations THERE IS NO CHARGE.

If you were in the military and are currently having health issues look into it. You went inn to the service as a healthy person .You came out with or developed health issues as a result of your service YOU ARE ENTITLED TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THOSE ISSUES.

BEST PART OF RECEIVING ANY DISABILITY PAY IS IT IS TOTALLY 100% TAX FREE INCOME !!!!
