Default SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014

I have been working on this for a few weeks now. I wanted to get a group of racers together to run a SS/K Stick Shift Shootout at the Class Nationals next May. I'm happy to report I have had great feedback and a lot of excitement about this. I have contacted a lot of racers and potential sponsors for the Shootout.

I'm happy to announce that Dean Oliver (Deano's Carbs) has stepped up to be the title sponsor for this Shootout. I can't thank Dean enough for doing this. Here is what Dean is doing for the SS/K Shootout.

Dean Oliver of Deano's Carburetors has stepped up to offer a custom blueprinted carburetor to the winner of the SS/K Shootout (up to a $1000 value)! Winner must display Deano's decal or license plate throughout the Shootout (decals available at the track). Participants may contact Dean for details.

I have sent letters to several other potential sponsors for this Shootout. I hope to hear from them soon. I will update this link as I get new information and/or responses.

Here is a list of racers that I have contacted that have either committed to running in the SS/K Shootout or have expressed interest in participating in it. My goal is to have 12-16 cars run in it. I am still contacting racers and welcome anyone else who can run SS/K. If you know of another racer who can run K please have them contact me.

Also a big thank you to Michael Beard for working with me on this and including this SS/K Shootout in his Class Nationals flyer. Thanks Michael.

This has been a lot more work than I thought, but it's been fun. I hope to get several more sponsors to step up. It will be great for those who compete in this. Of course if anyone else wants to support this Shootout in anyway please contact me. Thanks. Ed

Thumbs up Re: SS/K Stick Shift Shootout Class Nationals May 2014

Thanks for doing this,, Ed. I can't wait to see this "race within a race",,, it should be a blast.
As a former '66 Nova SS stick car owner back in the '70s, I'm a little biased to you guys.
Good luck to all who participate in this "shootout".

Well I thought I would post since this was back on page 7. I just completed 13 more letters I will be sending out this week looking for more support for the SS/k Shootout. Although my participation is uncertain at this point I will continue to work on gaining support for this Shootout and hope to have as many as 15 competitors for the race. I am going to do all that I can to be there especially if my dad can attend. I will post again when and if I hear back from my latest round of letters. Again thanks to everyone who has supported this race. It is greatly appreciated by myself and all the racers involved. Ed

This class is way cool and count me in for 100.00 to the winner and 50.00 to the R/U of the shootout!

Mike...let me know when you would like to have the money.

I'm going to dedicate my participation in the SS/K Shootout to my youngest brother Scott who passed away on 12-26-13. Words can't describe the feeling of loss my family and I have right now. I hope I can make him proud in May. RIP little brother.
