Default Seattle - First Round of Pro Stock...

Amazing that the Pro Stockers said, " naw, we don't care what you say about the track, we're not racing on it right now"....is this unprecedented or just more fallout from the Phoenix fiasco this year?

Maybe we should say, "naw, we're not running at 8:00 on a cold track or after alcohol", yea right...

I was watching on espn3.com and Anderson was interviewed and he said that NHRA had decided not to spray the track past the 1,000' mark... The first two pairs were out of shape and that's when they stopped round 1... They just finished the round so they must have gotten it sprayed....

Total BS. NHRA should prep the whole track for cars that run the full 1320. Sounds like NHRA is getting track prep tips from Corda. Racer's don't nickname his track "Slippery Rock" for the heck of it.

Sadly, it's just a matter of time before NHRA starts making Pro Stock run 1000', too. That'll be NHRA's answer to: "Oh yeah, you want to challenge us?"

Thanks Mack; I just had audiocast and Frey just said the second pair had ran good MPH and didn't know it went down like that. That pair had WJ so it would have been interesting if they had put a microphone next to him after a wild ride. This is insane; racers know Pro Stockers in high gear are just like a NASCAR car in a turn; they can get turned in a heartbeat. I can't believe they would disregard the safety of sportsman racers, much less Pro Stock; we'll have to see if the Pro guys can shake some sense into NHRA.

Question Re: Seattle - First Round of Pro Stock...

The reason they don't spray past 1000' is that it supposedly makes the fuel cars chunk tires when they shut down.

My question is do they spray past 1000' during qualifying? Why weren't they having trouble then?

Perhaps everyone should read the Pro driver reactions....Graham Light's reaction is similar to a certain division director's remarks when stockers were hesitant to go out on a very cold track at one of the Divisional races....."go race on it or go home; I don't care".... This attitude combined with racers with heads outside the cage checking their opponent, untightened belts and such ultimately spells disaster.
