Default The 23rd Annual “Pig Roast” & .90 Race at Cecil County

The Mid Atlantic .90 Association will invade Cecil County Dragway on July 16th & 17th for the annual “Uncle Buck” Pig Roast & .90 Race. This is a long standing tradition with the group and will continue once again at Cecil County for its 23rd year. This year though a special trophy will be handed out to the winners in each class on both Saturday & Sunday to commemorate this great event and the life and legacy of Ronnie “Uncle Buck” Harple.

Another tradition that is starting to gain popularity is the Autometer / ATI Top 8 Shootout presented by Lantier Construction that is now entering its 3rd year. This “Free” event is for selected members who have fought tooth and nail through 8 races to claim as many qualifying points as possible to claim a spot. The previous year’s champions along with 7 drivers secured their spots following Race # 2 this past Sunday at Maple Grove and will fight for the right to call themselves the Top 8 Shootout Champion.

Gates will open on Friday Night at 5pm and we ask that you please park over on the grass area of the track. You will more or less have to enter through the right lane side gate and cross over to the left hand side of the track and go down the return road and park in that field. There are select parking spots reserved for Cecil County’s Bracket Program (those spots will be marked.) Cecil County does offer a T&T on Friday Night beginning at 6pm till around 10pm for those of you who want to get a few hits in.

Saturday the gates will open at 8am. Tech will be in the lanes and the first TT run will be at 10am beginning with Super Street, then Super Comp & Super Gas. No TIME RUNS MAYBE MADE B4 THE FIRST RUN!! We have tight schedule and two races to complete so we can't be wasting time.

The .90 Series is also at the track that day with a special AMC Day to break up the action. The Top 8 Shootout will begin either following the final rounds of Race # 3 or when all the competitors have been eliminated in regular competition. After the 2nd qualifying shot pairings will be determined for this event based on the qualifying results from Race # 3. Rob Jackson from Robzneed4speed & Chris Barns from Wheelz-Up Radio will be on hand to do interviews with the drivers and tape the event along with our Facebook Live feed. The annual Pig Roast and Lantern Lighting will begin around 6pm and guests are asked to bring a small side or favorite dish.

Sunday the gates will once again open at 8am with Junior Dragster starting at 8:30am. Once Juniors are complete from their eliminations for the day racing will begin with Cecil County’s weekly Bracket Program followed by the .90 Cars for two shots beginning at 10am.

Weather looks great for this weekend at Cecil County. Nothing going on at Atco, MIR, Numidia & Super Chevy at Maple Grove so come on down or up and play with some of the best .90 Racers on the East Coast.

Saturday - Party Cloudy - High of 89
Sunday - Sunny - High of 90

A few people have also called and asked about some rules:

Super Street - No Minimum Weight / Must be a full bodied car, have a roof & no roadsters & Track Sanctioned Certified (Cecil is NHRA so must be NHRA Cert)

Trees:
Super Street - True .500 Pro Tree
Super Gas - True .400 Pro Tree
Super Comp - NHRA .370 Pro Tree

Hello All
This was my 1st Dot 90 race with these guys.
I thought the event went very smoothly and was very well run.
I knew a lot of the races there, because they also run the D 1 races in NHRA.
I hope to be able to race with these guys again in the near future.

Wish they were a little closer, and that one big azz toll would go away LOL.

And O my the pig roast was awesome, there was so much food, it was almost heaven LOL.
Till the next race "KEEPEM GREEN" the win light will come in time.

Joe,

Rob Jackson from Robzneedforspeed was down at this event on Saturday to do a video for the Top 8 shootout and take video of the first round of the regular race. We should be seeing it shortly. We've also started to incorporate "Live Video" via Facebook of all our events this year.
