I have had good success running that
number on our stockers.

They flow about like any other small primary
Thermoquad.

I wish I could find another one......I find them easier to tune.

So what is a ford guy doing with a Mopar carb. I would be glad to take it off your hands.

The '71 carb is harder to find jets for, unless you convert them to holley jets. Just sayin'. I prefer the 6138 or 6139 carb from the '72 340. Jim

The big advantage to that carb is the lack of well seals ("X-rings"). That's the only annoying thing about the later versions. However, as Jim said, the 4972 and 4973's are hard to find parts for. Don't be surprised to pay big $ if you do find them. Ask me how I know.

Does anyone have a strip kit for the 4972 carb. I'm looking for the jet sizes that the kits had in them. I have a 4972 that I tried a few times, but the jetting is calibrated completely different from the newer style TQ's.
