Rick, Could you please break down how you came up with 1975 Chevy/GMC Truck? I ask because the way I read that number and the way I would break it down makes no sense so I must be doing something wrong or getting some bad info from somewhere.

What I mean is that I understood the 1705 to mean 1975-1979 and the next digit (4) would be the year. Obviously 1974 does not fall between 1975 and 1979 so, like I said, I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks
John

I saw that as well. However, that same website says 1705 is 1976-1979.

I also found this on another website:

Rochester-built Quadrajets have numbers starting with '70' or '170'. Carter built carbs have a 4 digit number. Quadrajets used by other manufacturers were sometimes assigned their own number, which appeared on a tag screwed to the front of the airhorn.

The way I read that is that any "1705" number smaller than 17056200 is a service replacement carburetor.
