Smile 427 Ford 2x4bbl Carburetors

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind checking your old carburetor stashes for some pretty odd ball carbs. My father and I are looking for carb pieces for the 1967 427 2x4 motor. According to the NHRA Tech Guide, the Ford casting numbers that are legal for the 2x4bbl motor rated at 425 h.p. are C5AF-BC and BD. According to the Holley Tech Bullentins on line, their list numbers are 3300 and 3301 respectfully. Supposed they flow in the neighborhood of 700-715 CFM. Safe to say, my father and I cannot locate these guys anywhere. At this point we are looking for anything you might have, in partcularly main bodies. Please send me a note at gary.simpers@atk.com if you have something and are willing to part with it or may just have a lead. Were Desperate!!!

Thanks for your help,

Gary Jr.

Thanks Mike and Ralph. I will definitely take a look into the other forum. As far as Carl's goes, I spoke to him just the other week, and he is completly sold out of C5AFs. He said it would probably be a year or more before he would place another for addional sets. Supposedly Holley requires a minimum order of 50 sets before they are willing to cast additional units. Anyone willing to go in on the 50K?

Just Kidding. Thanks for the replys.

Thanks for the suggestion Bill. When do you think it would be a good time to contact Blair? I don't want to bother him when he is trying work.

He's been busy on the dyno recently during the day. I'd try him in the early evening.

Will do Bill. Thanks again for the lead.

SSDiv6: Looking at ebay once a day. Just trying not to get addicted.

Hey Chappy,

Dad and I are just trying to step the ole wagon up for next year. Plan is to run the wagon as a battery relocation car with the glass hood in "B". We have already located much of the hard parts like intake, heads, block, rods, and pistons, but no luck on the carbs. We would like to find a couple that are complete basket cases so we could refurbish them ourselves, but at this point we might just take what we can get. With any luck we should have the car out the first of next year. Thanks for chiming in. It was good to hear from you.

Have a great holiday,

Gary Jr.
