Kudos to Ford
I'm disappointed with the Mopar racecars, two of them that I know of broke with serious problems, yet the Fords stayed together. You have to give Ford credit for building a reliable piece that goes very fast in any class you put them. I thought that the V-10's would show their muscle, but the Fords just trumped them.

Re: Kudos to Ford
I'm a GM guy but Casey is right. The Ford engines stay together even with blowers on them... LOL

Re: Kudos to Ford
The Mod Motor seems to do OK, not a SS car but 6.19 at 235 is stout.
And that's not even the big 5.4 the CJ has, it's the smaller 4.6 with a factory block, crank and heads. |

Re: Kudos to Ford
Chad, didn't Skillman stand it way up? Might have hit the pan or starved it of oil?

Re: Kudos to Ford
He stood it up twice, and dropped it, twice in consecutive qualifying rounds. He spun the tires hard in his third qualifying shot. Then in the first round, his opponent went red and he spun the tires even harder, then drove it through, it blew up about 900' and shut the track down for about an hour or so in the middle of round one.

Re: Kudos to Ford
The oil pump pick up broke off. When that happened it burned it up and left a quater sized hole in the pan. There was oil completely covering under the car, and all over the rear end of the car.
Glad to see they took the time the change motors and go race this weekend. |

Re: Kudos to Ford
There's nothing Comp Style about a manley shelf rod, regular forged pistons, and steel valves. If these things wore Bowties, it would be like chirping crickets when it comes to all of the hating going on
