Cherryville Flash R/SA full-sized Chevy wagon in D6?
I think it was driven by Robbie Robinson, who purchased the Stark Street Pizza Company located at 9234 Stark Street in Portland Oregon in about 1982 (I think it was called the "Pizza Baron" before that). Great guy.
I loved watching that car. Anybody got any pics or info? Last edited by 6130; 05-04-2018 at 05:55 PM. |

I am sure Charles Norton can fill in the blanks. Rob Robinson ,the owner of Stark Street Pizza is a member of the Softball Hall of Fame.....

Wow! Haven't been called "Charles" for quite a while. Kind of a shock to the system.
Robbie's car was originally a part of Jerry McClanahan's national event winning World Championship stable. It won even more races under Robbie's guidance but it has eventually found its way back to Southern California. I think that former Division 7 Champ, John Melvin, may have owned it at one time, John Nickel and Vic Hobbs drove it and I understand that Jerry's son, Brian McClanahan, now has possession of the wagon. Rumor has it that it's undergoing a complete restoration. Car has seen a LOT of win lights! c

It was a '66, with a 283 and a 'glide, if memory serves. Either white or off-white paint.
Looking forward to seeing it's restoration... |

If it was white at sometime it sure wasn't washed much. Cause it was light brown when Nichols drove it

When Jerry had the car it was basic GM blue like his 4-door. Robbie was the artist who had the inner fender panels chromed(!), powder coated the Super Tricks to match the brown paint, and generally made it an eye-catcher. Since Robbie sold it, life has not been quite that kind for the car.

Well, Hall of Famer Cal Method had one with a stick in the early years and Chuck Porter also raced one around the same time in R /SA......

The car was either white or tan, can't remember which, when a friend of mine Steve Green drove the car. I can't remember if he owned the car or was just the driver (driver only I think). It was lettered with his name on the quarters. This was about mid 80's to early 90's, if memory is still working. If someone has more info about this era please let us know.
