78 fairmont
im about to pick up a 78 fairmont with a 302 automatic . It looks like it's perfect for u stock any thoughts out there . I was thinking about doing turbo 4 cyl t bird but the car was wrecked and the guy stick welded the nose back on it . Also you guys on here said that the turbo was too small to make any power . The 78 fairmont looks good just a little better than the 78 mustang . Any help would be appreciated !!! Thanks vinnie I should give a shout out to tony Massari d/fwd I help him put the car together and did the first motor on it .

Re: 78 fairmont
I think it's a good choice, it was my first choice for U/SA and I looked for one forever, finally gave up and built something else. Good luck!

That platform seems to be exempt from hp increases caused by the Mustang II.. ..which is where you want to be now. As far as the turbo, if you're talking 1980, carbed...It's the carb and intake that's too small..not necessarily the turbo.
