Re: front engine dragster fire suit question
Assuming your trans has a covering, you need jacket and pants Spec. 3.2A/5 and gloves 3.3/1 plus arm restraints. I would double check on this with your Div. director.

Re: front engine dragster fire suit question
ALSO plus neck collar---plus full face helmet WITH face shield--thats for gasoline cars ---you use alcohol or E-85 gas different et of rules--- PLUS you better check all of the previous information again because of the FRONT engine part --- not sure of the trans shield part because it depends on if the trans is in the drivers compartment or not !!!! Re: front engine dragster fire suit question
I'd want a floor in it for sure.. and I'd be using a Dedenbear or Reid transmission case, as it is between your legs.. if it's certified for 8.50, you probably will not be going 180mph, and will not require a 15 suit, so a 5 suit is OK, unless you feel you want more protection.. don't cheap out on the full face helmet, and consider a HANS device..
How old is the chassis??.. make sure the front end is good, and the length is good for your power.. most front engine cars are short, like 200" to 225".. make sure the chassis cert is current, or you may need a chassis shop to do upgrades.. |
