Default Iron heads vs Aluminum small block Chrysler .

I know this question has likely been asked a lot but anyone using the replacement NHRA approved aluminum heads are you seeing gains , or would you have not spent the money in retrospect? Pros and cons would be great to hear , I am looking at getting a set done .. thanks

I got a set I was going to use on a 360 build, but the intake port volume is too much for a 360. So they are sitting in my garage yet. Didn't want to cut the intake surface for NHRA Stock.

I think the aluminum heads would be great for SS where you can weld up the ports and reshape them. Not sure about stock unless it was for a big valve 340 with 2.02" intake valves. BB heads are worse with too big of valve sizes for stock. I suppose it depends on your wallet. It would be interesting to hear of the cost difference between prepped iron and aluminum heads.

It appears most real fast 340 Stockers have them now.
They require a lot of work to be successful and are not cheap!!
