Oh yeah. I knew a guy who put headers, 5.13's and slicks on his and went mid 12's. Had the Lakewood "half a hoop" (?) rollbar, too.

There was another gentleman from the New Orleans (I think his name was Mike) that raced one of these. He was freinds with Jeff Ferguson

A friend we raced with around 1970 bought a Yenko Deuce after selling his '69 Z/28 racecar.

The Yenko had the same engine as the 70 Camaro Z/28 350/360 or 370 HP rating....

That Yenko went 12.5 or better driven to the track with steep rear gears, slapper bars and headers. Had big Pro Trac tires on it on the street.

Engine broke with not a lot of miles on it......Dealer where he bought it refused to warrantee it......engine was piled in the trunk, what a mess.........Wallace Chevrolet, Linden N.J.

I put a 302 in the Yenko from the '69 Z and it was sold for around $3000....and it was maybe a year old.....

Was probably the most fun car I ever drove on the street and the 302 was every bit as fast as the 350 since it was a blueprinted race motor......

Wife's cousin has one, green with a dark green vinyl roof, hounds tooth interior owned it since 73 unmolested has not been run for 5 years did the carb on it last year. They are fast. Help me out here but I believe it would be a C/D car. soft index and just a guess cannot be more than just a couple running in the country with a stick.

Two of my friends went together to a Chev dealer in Ottawa, ON, Canada and both ordered 70 z28's, both 4sp. One has not driven the car many many years and the other fellow died some years ago and his wife drives it a few times a year.

So the latest is that there is a twist in the story. The guy sending pictures to me isn't the owner but someone selling it for the owner. So the $7500 price has this guys cut in it. I didn't connect with him last weekend as planned. He seems cautious about showing me the actual car but without seeing the title, cowl tag, and of course THE CAR, I'm not sure how this will work.

I will still follow the lead and try to see the car. There won't be any losses since I've had people try to scam me on titles and cars since I was 16. The original contact on this car is a legit person and I always want to look at south Texas cars because of the lack of rust on some of these vehicles. Now, that being said the car might not be numbers matching or whatever but it may still be a clean 70' Camaro. Pictures do show a little damage on one front fender behind the headlight. Will try to push this deal this week. I have requested a cowl tag picture but have not gotten one.
