Re: Who makes good pro gears these days.
I just changed my pro gears, it is a 12 bolt, I was worried with all the changes in production with richmond. The set I got are made in Italy and had a production date of early 2013. They set up great, and I put 6 runs on them at the Dutch, no noise and they didn't tighten up like sometimes happens. it is a stick shift big block stocker. I plan on inspecting them over the winter.

Motive gears made in Italy have done real well for me too. That should now include Richmond; just be sure they are the Italian gears. I have also had good results with Ace pro gears.

The company that makes the gears for Motive in Italy, also manufactures gears for commercial and military helicopter gear boxes and gears for the automotive OEM's.

Re: Who makes good pro gears these days.
The motive gears made in Italy have been BETTER than the last of the Richmond gears made over here IMHO.
They invested in new machinery over there, the equipment here was worn out and out of date. We probably installed 20-30 sets at my previous employer, the only problem we ever had was the depth marked on the gear set, apparently somebody botched the conversion lol

Used to run the Schiefer and Zoom gears before the pro gears were introduced.

Im assuming here, Mike-
It's been a while since I've been at a race track, but do you need pro gears for a U/SA car? |
