Car Craft demise?
I got an e-mail the other day saying that Car Craft was no more. I dumped it, thinking it was a scam. now I hear that all Petersen mags are done except Hot Rod.
if anyone has that e-mail, would you send it to me, please. I have 2 years left and wonder what is going to happen to my $$$. any other thoughts? thanks Rod in AZ |

Re: Car Craft demise?
You need the email. It has a link for your choice of digital magazines and a bs link to the motor trend app.

Re: Car Craft demise?
Yeah, I was bummed to hear this as Car Craft is one of my favorites. I haven't got an email, I don't think they ever had my email address, so I guess they'll send out notifications in the mail. I actually got an issue(probably the last) in the mail yesterday.

Hot Rod is gone also, from what I hear. 10 magazines in all, now only available online. Motor Trend is what's left in print, and I believe 2 others.

Re: Car Craft demise?
Been subscribing to Car Craft since 1977. I heard more than 10 titles were either disappearing or going on-line only. I got a Car Craft mag this past Saturday and there was subscription card or two inside. Didn’t look to see what it said. I almost renewed in the beginning of December before I got word it was not going to be published anymore.

Re: Car Craft demise?
I read Hot Rod online, and I get the print version. I just looked at their site, which includes versions of their online mags. Only Hot Rod has been updated regularly. The most recent articles on the other titles are between a couple months and a couple years old! https://www.hotrod.com
I hate when a business doesn't update their customers. They also have still been sending offers of subscriptions (print). Recently, I considered paying for the online version of their content, which they call, "Motor Trend", I think. Glad I didn't. Screw 'em. I'm sixty, maybe younger folks will disagree, but I really don't believe the world is heading in the all-online content direction, as some (apparently Hot Rod), believe. I can read news online, but I like reading an actual car magazine. Hot Rod is ruining their brand. |

Re: Car Craft demise?
I like the part in the article that says no one will be laid off, I guess they didn't count the guys that physically printed and distributed the magazines.
Sad to see magazines and newspapers going away. Car Craft was one that I subscribed to but they had gotten so far away from drag racing there wasn't much left that interested me any more. |

Re: Car Craft demise?
I still miss Super Stock and Drag Illustrated. I thought it was better than both HR and CC, as far as Drag Racing was concerned.
