Default Can Stockers use the small Braille battery?

Jegs has the 12v 6.9lb Braille battery for $150 and I was wondering if its legal to have in the battery tray in the engine compartment in Stock. Does it have to start the car? What if I have a 16v battery in the trunk that starts the car? Is the small size an issue?
thank you

I know if a second battery is used (in the trunk), it must be the same type and group.

Michael,

You can't go wrong with a Braille battery (unless it isn't correct for the application), and they support not only drag racing in general, they specifically support S/SS racing. All three of our cars will be running Braille Batteries. You'll see the signage and product on our cars and commercial transporter next week at Maple Grove.

Great company and people. Stop by and check out the battery we are running in our stocker, lightweight and no need for two.

-Matt

Using the B3121 in the Camaro and the B2317 in the Mustang. Great batteries, but I can not recommend their charger (12310) . https://www.braillebattery.com/index...argers/b123101

The charger is great for home/shop use with standard 120v service, but it will not excite/operate on any generator I have tried at the track.

Michael, I have the 21 lb Braille battery in my car this year and have had no problems with it. The rule book does say if you are running two batteries, they must both be the same size and the front battery must start the car. I just have the one in front.

Alex what Braille battery would you recommend for the EFI stocker? Is 475 cranking amp enough? I'm using a 6 year old optima red top that weighs about 35 lbs and would like to take some weight off that front end.

If you run two batteries and wire them in series they have to be the same to work and live. Glad I found this thread as I was booted at Atlanta and had no clue the fake front battery was wrong. The rule is "The battery that has to be in the stock location must be able to start the car" as far as size goes I'm having trouble getting an answer.
