Default DOT California

The State of California has a limit on trailers of 56' or longer. This is new. But you can buy a Motorsports Exemption online for $16. There is no over all length limit. So if you got one, get the permit. I think it is issued 2 days before you enter, and good for 10 days. Don't matter if Sportsman or Pro. Hope this helps someone.

I don't think I have seen a trailer 56' or longer, do you mean tow vehicle and trailer?
Tow vehicle and trailer limit without permit should be 65'.

Trailer only. Overall length has no limit. The pro trailers are all 56'. Some sportsman might be. Just a note I got from someone who permits many of the pro trailers. The advice here is 'if you got one, spend the $16 and get a permit.
