1st pass ever was this AM when it went a 10.45 122. Rd 2 the clutch was a tad agressive and it knocked the electric fan off the radiator!!!! The parts we picked up were the plastic clips holding it in place. It basketballed the tires pretty hard. Similar to trying to leave with NO shocks on a car. Rd 3 was more of the same and rd 4 it got down the track again. He did win the run for the money but we were gone already so I dont know what the ET was but he did run .006 off the number on the window.

Up close the car is just killer.

Here's a pic of the interior. As far as I can remember, John totally restored the car, I don't recall any conversation about fiberglass but I could be wrong.

Click on pic below to zoom.

To be legal in stock or super stock NHRA requires it to have a metalic front bumper. This is why they went to aluminum in 1964 after the release of the early cars. It looks like he stuck with a steel bumper. Very few got fiberglass doors in '64 also so I doubt he went with those. You can tell if a T-bolt has fiberglass doors in early photos by the lack of a door lock cylinder. No locks in fiberglass doors. The hood looks fiberglass in the photos. My guess is he went with the fiberglass front fenders too but I've never seen the car in person yet. Crites Restoration makes all of the needed fiberglass parts. He does need to raise the front bumper to look like a T-bolt. They were raised on the original cars.

John Calvert's car does have the Crites fiberglass fenders and hood. I raced for a Dodge dealer in '64 and remember them when they were new. I heard of fiberglass doors but never actually saw one with them. I put a side mirror on mine pointed down to watch the rear tire in the water box!
