The 55 Q/SA had its first NHRA outing at the Indy Fall Classic over the weekend. Was fighting carb problems all weekend, but did put one good run together in the first round of Stock eliminations when I ran a 13.750 on a 13.75 dial, so I got the first round win out of the way.Ran 13.55 and 13.60 on the first test day,but after that couldn't run any faster than 13.75, with 60 foots going from low 1.80s to 1.90s.It was still fun, as the car got a lot of attention. Will work on it over the winter, and my goal next year is to set a record so I can get "National Record Holder" on the roof. Will have to seek out a class that the record has gone back to the minimum. If you look real close you might even see a little daylight under the left front.LOL

Pretty cool. You'll get it sorted out.

Frank, the headers are a set of 1971 vintage adjustable 1 5/8s(list for over $200.back then) Hookers. Was told by another 265 Stock racer that the smaller tube headers were worth something on the dyno.Going back to the track this week to try to get some carbs sorted out.Love testing in this cool fall weather.Takes less time to cool down, and it is fast most of the time unless the wind is in your face.

Are you running a '56 block so you have an oil filter?

Going to pick up a couple 57 265 blocks this week for my new build so I will be able to use a spin on filter, and the starter will bolt on in the conventional way. They make a good rubber rear main seal for it also. These blocks are suppose to be extra thick in the walls and deck .One racer called them the poor mans "BowTie".
