Re: Original hemi dart information
After 6 1/2 years of this forum trying to find the history of Daryl's LO23 he has FINALLY found the beginnings of it's life on earth. While there is still a decent sized gap in reported ownership, now there is hope.
Post number one of Daryl's and the following it developed is what eventually led to the beginning of the Nostalgia page. I joined in on this way back when I was remembering a car from my teenage days and just decided to google "68 Hemi Dart" and one of the links brought me here. This is the first LO23 I ever saw. The sound of that Hemi to a 16 year old gearhead...... too cool ! And then, through the history lesson this topic turned into, to find that it is still alive and well.....even cooler ! Your Dart is close enough to the right color Daryl. With some Torque Thrust wheels and some vinyl lettering........ Last edited by Charlie A; 03-26-2015 at 01:50 PM. |

Re: Original hemi dart information
Thanx for hangin' in there. It's been a long road for sure. I've looked through literally thousands of pics over time in the hopes of finding something of resemblance to my car. That one pic of the Dented Dart at least put a definite origin of it. with the detective work from Paul C, he was able to attach a name of Pete Marzec to it through information from Pete's friend Al Ripolla. The trail has kinda ended there tho.
But like Charlie said, there's a huge gap from late 68 to early 80's where this car just doesn't show up anywhere. Don't understand that one, xept it must of been parked in some guys garage. The search continues......................... Here's a pic. of a LO23 from day1 showing the Hurst modded wheel well. For anyone who is trying to replicate this, put the pic on an overhead projection & enlarge it till the wheel diameter is 15" & you'll have a pretty accurate template. liteweight |
