Default Rear Spring recommendation

Needs some help here. I have searched post for three days with no real help. I have a 79 Malibu back half/4-link car. Small block(358) 500hp with a Powerglide. Koni coil overs on the rear. At ride height the rear springs are bowed. They are 12" spring but no numbers on them. They are probably 20 years old so I am sure they need to be replaced. Local circle track speed shop sells Eibach springs and I have called them with no response yet. Any help would be great. Trying to go racing next weekend...

I had virtually the same car that you described, only with a 406, using Alston DA Vari-shocks. I ran 110# springs. You could probably get away with using springs in the next pound range, either lighter or heavier. Good luck!

I do not know the rear percentage. car weighs 2900lbs...Thanks for the response...I talked to Racetech race cars today. They are the local dragster builders here and they said with out knowing the rear percentage I would just be guessing but 110# was the most common for door cars. And then a friend who has won several races this year went to 135# and his car likes it. So I have know idea. Think I am going to try 125# and see what happens...

Thanks to all. I ordered a set up 110's today. car was running good with the wore out 100's that were bowing so this should work for now. Might have to stiffen them up a bit when I get a bigger motor.
